I got ahold of a beautiful slab of live-edge cherry a few weeks back. The piece is 5' x 2' x 2.25". Ideally, I'd like to resaw it into two bookmatched pieces that I can join to make a trestle kitchen table. The hard part here is finding a band saw large enough. One option would be to cut it into ~8" segments first, resaw each segment, and then reassemble (might be less prone to warping too).
Alternatively, I may skip resawing it and turn it into a coffee table instead.
